Fundraising

As a charity, Cyprus Well relies on fundraising to make our community work possible. It can take as little as £40 to get someone reading or writing, perhaps for the first time, and so we work to raise this money each year through our donation campaigns, through ticket sales for events, through local activities and by making applications to other funds and private investors.

Our community donations are really important to us – and we believe that community work is at its very best when the communities themselves get the chance to be involved. Every donation of £1 that we receive goes towards making people’s lives better through reading and writing. Some communities go a step further and help us raise funds by holding their own activities: from sponsored readathons to literary lunches – we are overwhelmed by the variety and creativity that our supporters come up with!
